Ahmed Jahanzeb is a pop singer and songwriter from Pakistan. He was born on May 28, 1978. He was born in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, and later became known by his stage name, AJ. Due to his classical training, Jahanzeb is one of the few vocalists in the country who can deliver genuinely moving ballads. As a vocalist, performer, and musician, Jahanzeb demonstrates not just a command of vocal and instrumental music but also of the craft of stagecraft. In a lovely ceremony at the Sheraton Hotel in 1988, Ustad Rais Khan officially made Jahanzeb his shagird (student). The event was the first of its sort to be held in both India and Pakistan. Therefore it was a big deal attended by famous people, government officials, and media members.
In 2004, at the Royal Palm Golf Club in Lahore, Jahanzeb represented Pakistan in the Indo-Pak Peace Concert. On this historic occasion, the biggest stars from across the border played for the first time in Pakistan. He did Pakistani culture proud by sharing the stage with Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, the musical combo Jatin-Lalit, the vocalist Shaan, the actor Babul Supriyo, the comedian Sajid Khan, and the singer/songwriter Sunidhi Chauhan. The event was hailed as a big success by critics and audiences in both countries’ local press and national media.
